Benefits Of Technistone Quartz Worktops

High resistance to chemicals

Quartz is one of the hardest minerals available on earth. This, combined with the carefully chosen raw materials and advanced technology, gives Technistone quartz worktops exceptional properties, including resistance to chemicals, stains, and spills.

Scratch-resistant

The last thing you want is to have a new surface and then find that it’s sustained scratches already. Thanks to the tough quartz, your new Technistone countertops will be highly resistant against scratches, so they stay looking newer for much longer.

Low absorbency

Technistone countertops feature very low absorbent properties thanks to their non-porosity. This means that air and liquids won’t be able to penetrate the surface and cause damage. The worktops are also waterproof, making them perfect for bathrooms.

Hygenic

Technistone countertops have passed even the most stringent hygienic requirements, so you can prepare and serve food safe in the knowledge that your working area is clean and bacteria-free. The non-porous material is resistant to bacteria and nasty viruses, creating a safer family environment.

Strong and durable

The unique combination of high-quality granite minerals and natural quartz creates an exceptionally hard and strong product. This means you won’t have to worry about going easy on your new worktop. So peel, chop, and slice to your heart’s content!

  • technistone slab sizes

    Technistone Slab Sizes

Technistone slabs come in 3 different sizes These are standard,  jumbo and jumbo+ sized format.

    Jumbo+ maximum slab size  = 3210 x 1610. (when trimmed 3160 x 1560)

    Jumbo maximum slabs size= 3200 x 1560. (When trimmed 3150 x 1510)

    Standard Maximum slab sizes = 3065 x 1450 (when trimmed 3015 x 1400)

Please note from the above sizes that all slabs will need to be trimmed before manufacture, giving a maximum size in one piece at 50mm less in length & height than the original size of the slab.

Slab sizes depend on colour – some slabs are standard only, some jumbo only while some colours are available in both sizes. Some standard-sized slabs are to be phased out during 2020/ 2021 and replaced with jumbo-sized slabs.

  • silestone thickness

    Technistone Slab Thickness

Technistone slabs are available in 3 different thicknesses. 12mm, 20mm, and 30mm.  While 30mm is the most popular for kitchen worktops there is a growing trend of 20mm worktops for the sleek, modern, German-style kitchen. 20mm is also usually used on walls for upstands and hob splashbacks.

While 12mm can be used for kitchen worktops we do not recommend it. Reinforcement of kitchen units or solid top units is needed to give support to the thinner worktops. 12mm thickness slabs can come in very useful for cladding a large wall or units where a large vertical application is needed. It’s also the most cost-effective of the 3 thicknesses.

There are only limited colours available in 12mm, stocked in the UK.
